This movie stars Allen Covert as Alex, a 35 year old video game tester who, not by choice, lives with this his Grandmother. This film also stars Doris Roberts and Linda Cardellini. The odd thing about this film is that the title is somewhat of a misprint. Yes, the main character lives with his grandma, but the movie itself focuses more on Alex's job as a video game tester. This film had some good laughs and a decent plot, but lacked in the acting department. Linda Cardellini is very good in her role(expecially her Salt 'n' Pepa performance) and Doris Roberts is correctly casted as the grandmother. However, the film lacks in its main character and its villan. Covert seems like an actor better suited for a supporting role and just doesn't carry the lead role well. Perhaps maybe if some of those stars(David Spade and Rob Schneider) that had cameoes in this film would have had the lead role it would have worked better. The villian in the film does not work either and is in funny. It's because of the the casting I cannot give this film a recommendation. |
