This movie stars Donald Sutherland as John Bell, the father of the bell family that is being haunted by an unknown prescence in there house. On a nightly basis the ghost spends most the time physical and psychological torment towards the daughter Betsy(Rachel Hurd-Wood). The family then goes to great lengths to get the ghost to go away. The movie also stars Sissy Spacek. Donald Sutherland is a great actor and doesn't belong in a film like this. This film was intriguing for the first part of the film, but became repetitive as time went on. Why the family would have the daughter in the same room every night to get attacked by the spirt is beyond me. The payoff is also lacking. |
