Adrien Brody stars as Louis Simo, a private detective who investigates supposed cheating spouses, who is given his biggest investigation to date. He is hired by Helen Bessolo, the mother of George Reeves(Ben Affleck), to investigate the mysterious death of her son. The film also spends a great deal of time bringing us all the moments of George Reeves life that lead up to his death. This film also stars Diane Lane, Bob Hoskins, and Robin Tunney. This film works thanks to some good performances. Ben Affleck gives his best performance to date as George Reeves and Diane Lane is also extradinary. The problem with the film is the way the flashbacks are cut into the investigation. They are all very interesting, but don't necessarily help with the investigation. Yet the film is well acted and enjoyable. |
