Steve Martin stars as Peter Sanderson in this new comedy. Peter is a divorced middle-aged lawer who is striving to keep is life together. He spends much time chatting online with a woman online named Charlene(Queen Latifah) he believes is a young reporter. However, when he invites her over one night, he learns that the real person he has been talking to is a convict who broke out of prison. Eugene Levy also stars in this film. Bringing Down the House is funny at moments and dull the rest of the time. The pieces for a good film seem to be there, but just aren't thrown together properly. Maybe it's because the plot is all too familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something just wasn't there make this film excel. |
