Nicole Kidman stars as Silvia Broome, a U.N. translater that allegally overhears a death threat against an African Head of State in a language only few can understand. After this occurance, Silvia is put under protection of federal agent Tobin Keller(Sean Penn). Together they must track down the killers before it is too late. The film also stars Catherine Keener. This film is about and hour and a half stretched film in a two and a half film. It has occasional tense and enjoyable moments, but drags on with too many boring scenes. Kidman is good in the film, but Penn looks like he wishes he wasn't there and the two just don't have much of a on-screen chemistry. I also didn't like the fact that the film easily gives away the character behind the attempted assasination a few times during the film. |
