Bruce Willis reprises his role as officer John McClane in the fourth installment of the series that dates back to 1988. This being the first film in the series since 1995. This time around McClane is ordered to bring in a hacker(Justin Long) to the FBI, suspected of causing a tampering in the government computer networks. The tampering ,however, was caused by a group of terrorists looking to cause a firesall by systematically shutting down the U.S.. This film also stars Timothy Olyphant, Maggie Q, Kevin Smith, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Bruce Willis is excellent as McClane once again and Justin Long does well as his sidekick. The action sequences are very good and so is the plot. One thing I didn't like aws Olyphant as the lead villain. It is hard to back a computer hacker a bad ass villian. I would have preferred to see Maggie Q as the lead villian as she seemed to have more a evil side to her and can kick some serious butt as well. Other then that this was one of the most enjoyable films of the year. |
