The dead are walking once again in this new zombie movie. The world is full of zombies. The only remaining humans live inside a wall protected city and the wealthiest people live in a skyscraper called Fiddler's Green. John Leguizamo stars as Cholo. He is part of a crew that takes out a zombie protected tank called Dead Reckoning and collects supplies and food while fighting of zombies. Cholo, however wants out of the business and wants to live in Fiddler's Green. However, the president of Fiddler's Green Kaufman(Dennis Hopper) doesn't see eye to eye with that idea and rejects Cholo's wish. Cholo, upset buy this, hijacks Dead Reckoning and threatens to blow up Fiddler's Green inless Kaufman pays him $5 million dollars. To prevent this Kaufman hires Riley(Simon Baker) to head up a team of people and take back Dead Reckoning. Eugene Clark, Robert Joy, and Asia Argento also star. I usually am not a huge fan of zombie movies. In fact Shaun of The Dead is really the only one I have liked and that one's goal is to make fun of other zombie movies. This one ,however, I mildly liked. Leguizamo and Hopper are good in this film. I liked how the zombies weren't the primary villan in this film and were more of a sideshow. I also liked. how for the first time the zombies actually have a leader in the film and a purpose. I like seeing communication amongst the zombies. Yet,the plot in the film is very thin. I thought it was funny that Fiddler's Green had to do advertising in the film, expect who are they adversting for? All the living humans are either poor or rich and already live in Fiddler's Green. Nontheless, I liked the film just enough to recommend it. |
