This film stars Will Smith as Robert Neville, a former scientist who is quite possibly the sole survivor of a dominating virus created by man that took out 588 million people in 2009 or rather turned them all to zombies that can't live in daylight. Neville is now living by himself in New York City where he spends his days trying to find a cure for the virus all while dodging zombies that hide all over in dark areas.This film also stars Alice Braga and Charlie Tahan. This film was the first time I have experienced a film in a IMAX theater. For those who unfamiliar with IMAX, it costs a few more dollars then the regular film, but is worth it. The theater itself has a giant screen and seating is at a more steep slant that the normal stadium seating. The sound is loud and all around you. You literally feel like you are in the movie. As for the film, I liked it. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but still enjoyed it. Will Smith basically has to do most of the film by himself and does it almost as good as Tom Hanks in Castaway. Also like the added vampire feature to the zombies, but would have like to have known more about the virus. Otherwise, this was a fun film. |
