I don't give Laserick much credit for anything really on my website. For the first time ever, I have to give him some credit. It takes guts to for a male in his twenties to go see a movie about a 16 year old girl who goes on a class trip. I chickened out of going to see this film in the theater and caught it the other night on my computer when I was board of packing up my apartment. This film stars Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire. She goes on a class trip to Rome after a class trip and meets Paulo(Yani Gellman), a international music star who mistakes her for a another music star who he must present an award with at an award show and asks her to step in for her. The plot of this film is rather weak, but somewhat comes together to make some sense at the end of the film. The problem with this film is that had too many supporting characters. They worried too much about getting Lizzie's family in the movie that they set up a subplot that was about as dumb as Eddie Murphy doing a day-care movie. I did however, enjoy the performance of Hilary Duff and look forward to seeing in other movies in the future. I also enjoyed the fact that the film answered a very difficult question....."How many Lizzie McGuires does it take to screw in a light bulb?" Answer...."I don't know, but it only takes one to screw up a junior high graduation!" |
