The Omen
The Omen stars Liev Schrieber as Robert Thorn, a American diplomat, whose son dies at birth and is given another son by the hospital priest who was born the same night. Robert accepts the son an he and his wife Katherine(Julia Stiles) raise him as there own flesh and blood. However, when there son turns five, strange things begin to occur and the Thorns realize there son may be more then they bargained for. The film also stars Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, David Thewlis, and Mia Farrow. What works in this film is the acting. The performances by Schrieber, Stiles, and Farrow are good dispite the story. The film really is actually descent for the first half, but takes a 180 degree turn in the middle. When Robert starts to question what is going on with his son and takes a journey to find out, the film becomes ridiculus and uneventful. I became bored. Also, if you know your son pushed you wife of a ledge and she is in the hospital. Why wouldn't you make sure she is protected from him at the hospital? Instead the son and his nanny are allowed to walk right in at will. I just didn't understand or believe the way the second half of the film went.
