Every actor has a gift for a certain genre of film. Some are best at comedies. Some are better at action. Some times they try something different. Quite often it fails. Will Ferrell is best known for his comedies and in this film leaves the laughs behind to play just a normal human. Suprisingly, it worked. Karen Eiffel is a distinguished author who is struggling writing her lastest novel about an IRS agent name Harold Crick who's life has been quite dull, not to mention real. Yes, there lives a real Harold Crick(Will Ferrell) who's is a IRS agent and has a life so dull he counts his brush strokes when he brushes his teeth. Then one day he suddenly hears a voice narrating his life. This film also stars Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Will Ferrell does a good job playing a normal character in this film. Gyllenhall is also enchanting as Harold's love intrest. The film flows wonderfully, but lacks with its predictable ending. |
