Superbad
If you have seen the films Can't Hardly Wait and the first American Pie movie then you have pretty much seen the premise for this film. While Can't Hardly Wait hurt iself by not focusing too much on any of its many characters, this film takes a page out of American Pie and just focuses on a few characters. Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse star as three high school seniors who are 3 weeks away from graduation and desperately are looking to ditch there outcast personas and hang with the popular crowd for one night and possibly score with chicks. When a popular girl invites them to a party, they plan to make sure its a night they will never forget. That is until they promise to bring all the alcohol. Can the three underage high school outcasts successfully obtain alcohol and bring it the party? Well, go se the movie and find out. This film also stars Bill Hader, Seth Rogen, and Emma Stone. What I like about this film is that it doesn't spend a entire school year like American Pie to reach the big night and it doesn't spend the enitre film at the party like Can't Hardly Wait. In fact only about 15 minutes is spent at the party. Most of the film basically focuses on the characteres obtaining alcohol and getting it to the party. That's what makes this film so successful. The whole time you are rooting for these characters to get there. The problem is that the film tries to be so raunchy with its jokes that half the time it's more disgusting then funny. Yet, any film where a character dances with a girl and she p....d on him, this film is worth something. Expecially when the missing letters are not what you expect them to be. Again, go see the film and find out what the missing letters are.
