Superman Returns has the making of a bigtime blockbuster and though it doesn't reach that status, it still is solid fun. Brandon Routh takes over the role of the Clark Kent/Superman and makes his return to Earth 5 years since he last left. He returns to his old job as a journalist and still has strong feelings for Lois lane(Kate Bosworth who now has a five year-old son and is engaged. Lex Luthor(Kevin Spacey) is also back with his lastest plan to take over the world. As usual, its up to Superman to save the day. The film also stars James Mardsen, Frank Langella, and Parker Posey. The acting in this film isn't the best. The film also drags on for a much longer time then it needs to. Luthor's plan is a little over the top. However, there is some beautiful cinematography and the action sequences are enjoyable. This film is a disapointment considering what was expected, but it is still alot of fun. |
