All film critics have a certain kind of film that they just don't understand. They know some people enjoy, but no matter how many times they watch it, they just won't get it. Roger Ebert doesn't get the Scooby Doo. Richard Roeper doesn't understand who would like Garfield. For myself, it is this film. This is the prequel to the film release 3 years ago. In the film, four teenagers are on one last road trip before two of the characters are shipped off to Vietnam. When they get into a car accident in Texas, local Sheriff Hoyt(R. Lee Ermy) is called to the scene. He then takes the teens to a secluded house where a nightmare begins. This film also stars Diord Baird, Andrew Bryniarski, Taylor Handley, Matthew Bomer, and Jordana Brewster. This film has some descent acting and some overacting. There is as expected many gruesome scenes, some that could have been cut down a little. There is also a lack of background. Why is the family the way it is? Who knows? The film didn't care too much on that. Then again, maybe there is a reason that wasn't focused on? I don't know. As I said before, I just don't get a film like this. I don't know if I ever will. |
