Robert De Niro is back as Paul Vitti, the mobster who seeked psychological help from Dr. Ben Sobel(Billy Crystal) in in the prequel to this film, Analyze This. This time around Vitti is in jail and supposibly goes nuts and Dr. Sobel is sent to save the day and help him. Things are little different this time around as Sobel's dad has just passed away and he has inherited the family practice and has a awful lot of pressure put on him. Lisa Kudrow also stars in this film. This sequel tries to be just like the other one. For the first half of the film it worked perfectly. I laughed numerous times during the session Sobel and Vitti have at the prison. As the movie drags on though, the laughs seem to disappear and the film just seems to lag and run out of steam. |
