The Hitcher
Every year January seems to be one of the slowest months of the year. It's impart to the fact that the fall rush just concluded. In this particular month studios release films that generally compete to make the worst ten list at the end of the year. This film is a good example. It stars Grace Andrews(Sophia Bush) and Jim Halsey(Zachary Knighton) as a young college couple who are on there way to lake house for spring break. On they way they nearly hit a pedestrian name John Ryder(Sean Bean) with car trouble and later meet him at a gas station. They agree to drive him to a nearby hotel since it is on there way. During that drive, Ryder pulls of knife and attacks the couple, but they manage to kick him out of the car. So far so good until the next day when they see a nice religous american family drive by in there station wagon and they notice that John hitched a ride with the family. Grace and Jim try and stop the family, but nearly hit another car and cause themselves to go off the road and crash there vehicle. Later on they find the station wagon and the nice family is dead. The police then pick up the young couple and charge them with the crime. The police station is guarded by only to officers. John breaks in and kills them both and the couple does manage to escape just as 20 cops pull up. The film just keeps getting worse after that. This film started off good and stumbled into a downward spiral that it could never come close to regaining itself from. It also didn't help that the film seem to end and then went on for 15 minutes more. This was just an awful film.
