I have always enjoyed movies that central around the idea of time travel. In this film Kate Forster(Sandra Bullock) is in love with Alex Wyler(Keanu Reeves). There is just one problem. The relationship is two years apart. Kate is at a lake house in 2006, while Alex is there in 2004. They start communicating with each in through strange circumstances involving a mailbox. When one drops something in the mailbox, the other one recieves 2 years later or before depending on the character. Through letters in the mailbox, the two generate feelings for each other and realize they must meet. The only question is...when? The film also stars Christopher Plummer. This is suppose to have one big suprise at the end. However, it really isn't that hard to figure out 15 minutes into the movie and figuring it out won't ruin the film. The film is entertaining expecially when they are communicating through the mailbox, but goes through a number of dry moments. I give this film a mild recommendation. |
