Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Chris Pratt, a promising high school athlete, whose life is quickly changed because of a tragic accident. Four years later he is tries to get his life back together and takes a job as a janitor at a bank where he soon finds himself in the middle of a heist. This film also stars Jeff Daniels, Matthew Goode, Isla Fisher, Bruce McGill, and Carla Gugino. What a great piece of filmmaking. This film reminds me of another favorite film of mine called Memento. In that film the main character has an accident and has short-term memory loss. The main character in this film has the same problem and Gordon-Levitt does a great job selling it. I liked how the filmmakers cleverly placed flashbacks at the right moments. I also enjoyed the supporting performance from Daniels as a blind man and Goode as the villain. This is an excellent film and is a sure bet to not only make my top 10 list, but finish in the top 5. |
