This latest film based of a Stephen King novel stars Dave Drayton(Thomas Jane), a citzen of a small town in Maine, who notices a mist appearing across the lake from his home. He thinks nothing of it until he and his son(Nathan Gamble) and neighbor(Andre Braugher) go to the supermarket and noticed the mist has spread dramatically when they get there. They along, with other townsfolk are trapped inside the supermarket as they realize the mist contains some deadly creatures in it. Marcia Gay Harden stars as Mrs. Carmody, a townsfolk that preaches to the trapped people that God is punishing them and that it is quite possibly the end of times. She eventually convinces half the people to believe in what she says and soon a new battle arrives inside the supermarket. This film also stars Alexa Davalos, Frances Sternhagen, Chris Owen, and Laurie Holden. This film begins good and that slowly falls apart. What King wanted us to realize in this film is that when a group of people are trapped in a frighting situation, they can turn on each other. The problem is that in this film when they turn on each other it just gets to crazy. The characters want to start killing each other and don't ever really attempt to find away to defeat the mist. I also didn't care to much for the ending. It was just to horrifying |
