Jim Davis(Christian Bale), is an ex-Army Ranger, who is engaged to a beautiful girl from Mexico and wants to bring her to L.A. to live with him. In order to do that he hopes of landing a job with the L.A.P.D.. However, when that job falls through he turns to small heists and an partying it up with his friend Mike(Freddy Rodriguez), who is also under the pressure of his own girlfriend Sylvia(Eva Longoria) to find a job himself. I wasn't expecting much from this film, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Bale is at his best in this film and Rodriguez does a good job as his sidekick. What makes this film work the most though is the emotional after-taste you leave with. |
