Waitress
Meet Jenna(Keri Russell), a pregnant unhappy waitress in the deep south whose only pride in life is her talented ability to make pies and come up with new pies everyday. She's unhappy not only because she is pregnant, but pregnant with her abusing husband. She desperately wants to get out town, but can't afford it. When a new doctor(Nathan Fillion) moves into town, she falls into an unlikely relationship with him in a last attempt to salvage her miserable life. Cheryl Hines, Jeremy Sisto, and Andy Griffith also star. I liked this film. It works well simply because Russell is very charming and makes you feel bad for her. I also enjoyed the role Griffith had as the mean old owner of the pie shop in with Jenna works at. This was slightly boring and some of the characters were extremely annoying, but Russell's work makes this film worth a look.
