This is a chronicle of the life of the legendary musician Johnny Cash. Joaquin Phoenix stars as Cash in a film that takes us from Cash's early days on a Arkansas cotton farm to his rise in fame with Sun Records. We also learn how he met his wife to be June Carter who in this film is played by Reese Witherspoon. This film also stars Ginnifer Goodwin. This film presents a great script and great music. What makes it work the most though is the strong and oscar worthy performance by Phoenix and the oscar worthy performance from Witherspoon. This is easily on of the most enjoyable films of the year and may be the best autobiography film I have ever seen. This will definetely be on my top 10 list. |
