Nicole Kidman stars as Carol Bennell, a Washington psychiatrist, is caught in the middle of an alien invasion in this new film. When a space shuttle crashes down on to earth, a mysterious alien virus attached the particles of the shuttle take refuge in any human who comes in contact with it. Then when the human falls asleep it takes over the human's body. Anyways, as the virus spreads repeadly through the human race, Bennell and her doctor collegues must come up with a quick antidote. Jackson Bond and Daniel Craig also star. In the past I have always thought that the worst villain in a movie was zombies. They just walk around and moan. Well now that I have seen this movie, that has changed. The alien virus in this movie simply takes over the human body and the result is just a dull version of a non-infected person. Watching the infected people walk and talk is like watching paint dry. After about 5 minutes of these characters, you are tired of them. In fact these characters are so stupid, that non-infected people can fake them out by showing no emotion. This film is actually not that bad for the first 30 minutes. However, once the infected people show up, all hope is lost. I did like Nicole Kidman in this film. She tries desperately to salvage whatever she can. I also liked the concept that the aliens can't take over the body until one falls asleep. Unfortunately there just is no way to make a film with this kind of alien villain good. |
