Dan Castallenata, Nancy Cartwright, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Harry Shearer, and Hank Azaria bring the popular television series alive on the big screen finally. There has always been talk about making a movie based on this television series, but it was always put on the back burner. However, the inevitable finally has happened and doesn't disappoint. In the film, Homer buys a pig. Homer puts the pig droppings in a silo and drops in the town's lake. This sets a huge pollution alert in Springfield and the government responds by putting the town under a giant dome over the entire town and thus it is up to Homer to undue his own misdoings. Yeah, the plot isn't much, but you can't expect that. What this movie does best is that it doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from the television show. All fans of the show will enjoy this film. It is filled with not stop laughs. This film will easily be my vote for best animated film of the year. |
