Nicolas Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, a treasure-seeker who is searching for a hidden by the Founding Fathers since the Revolutionary War. His family has been in possesssion of the first clue to find the treasure for a very long time and no family member has ever been able to crack the first clue. Benjamin however, cracks the clue and goes on a wild adventure to find the treasure that includes stealing the Declaration of Independence. This film also stars Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha, Sean Bean, and Jon Voight. This film reminded my of old Macgyver episodes where they went searching for treasure. Luckily I liked those episodes and I liked this film. Yes, the acting is subpar and it isn't always believable how Benjamin finds some of these clues, but the film is still a good time. |
