Nicolas Cage stars as Dave Spritz, a local Chicago weatherman, whose career is going up. His personal life however, is the complete opposite. His relationship with his dying father is not going well, his ex-wife can't stand him, and his relationship with his kids is failing. Spritz slowly realizes the deteriation of his personal life and desperately tries to get back together. However, when he is offered a job on a more national level, he is forced to decide between work and family. This film also stars Michael Caine and Hope Davis. Cage turns in another stellar performance in this film and Caine is good as well. This film was filled with a number of moments that I didn't like. There were times were I just plain didn't like it. Yet, everytime one of those bad moments came along it was followed by a part of the film I did like. Lucky for this film it had more good then bad moments and therefore I can recommend it. |
