Cassidy seemed to be considering something.  "Hey, Friday night, if you and James aren't doing something, would you like to come have dinner with me and Garrett?"

"Yeah...that'd be fun."

Cass smiled.

"James would like it I'm sure."

"Yeah.  This will work."

"Right."

~*~*~

Cassidy smiled at Garrett as he walked through the door.  "Hey."

"Hello my beautiful wife."

She kissed him.  "Sorry to spring this on you, I honestly forgot that I hadn't told you... I hope you don't mind company for dinner."

"Company?"

"Just James and Cal."

"You just had to ruin our night didn't you?"

"I asked a while ago and promptly forgot I had.  They'll go back to their room before long, you scare her," Cass said.

"Why do I scare her?"

"I don't know, but she says you do."

"Fine.  They can come."

"Thank you.  And I promise to make it worth it to you after they go."

"Yeah yeah yeah."  He hugged her though.

Cassidy kissed him again.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

"Where did you want to go tonight?"

"I didn't have plans.  I just wanted to spend time with you."

"Well pick somewhere mi amor."

She smiled.  "No me importa, si puedo pasar tiempo con mi esposo."

"I know.  But pick anyway."

"We should go to the Plaza to one of the cafes, and then we should come home and get laid."

"That almost rhymes."

"Almost," she said with a smile.

He kissed her.  "Alright...go tell your friend when you want to leave."

"Okay."  She kissed him softly.

"Scoot."

Cass smiled and went to get Cal.

"We leaving?Cal asked.

"Whenever you guys are ready."

"I'm ready...I don't know about James."

"He's ready," James said, entering the room.  "I needed to shower."

Cal kissed him.  "Good, you smelled.”

James grinned.

"Come on, lovebirds, let's go," Cass said.

"We're coming."  Cal took James hand and they followed Cass out to where Garrett was waiting in the limo.  He nodded to James and then smiled at Cal, something she found a little disturbing.

Cassidy slid into the seat next to him.

"Hello gorgeous."

"Hi."  She kissed him.  "Miss me?"

James slipped his arm around Cal.  "He's positively friendly this evening," he whispered to her.

"I always miss you."

"I know...it's frightening."

"You don't have to be afraid," James told her.

Cass smiled.  "Quit looking at me like that."

"I know.  You're here."

"Like what?"  Garrett laughed.

James smiled.

"Like that.  I get all star-struck and I can't focus."

"That doesn't bother me."

"Well... I guess that's good news.  Daddy."  She grinned.

Garrett laughed.  "Of course...mommy."

She smiled at him.  "You have no idea how excited I am about this..."

"I think I do."

"Well, okay so you probably do.  But just... I'm still sort of amazed."

"I know."

James nodded toward Garrett and Cassidy.  "They are sorta cute."

"Not as cute as us."

"Of course not."

Cassidy was gently caressing his face.

"We're adorable."

"We are," James agreed.

"I love you."  Garrett murmured.

"I love you too..."  She leaned close to kiss his cheek.  "When we get home, I want you," she whispered.

"Well good because I want you."

"But I imagine you discovered that because I'm having problems keeping my hands off you."

"Yes, this is true."

"It's because you're hot."

"I know."

Cass laughed.  "And so modest it makes my head spin."

~*~

"FUCKING SHIT I HATE YOU JAMES!"  Cal yelled as she lay on the doctor's table.

James brushed her hair out of her face with his free hand, the other being held in a vice-like fashion by Cal.  "I know, baby.  You've told me a couple times."

"This fucking HURTS!"

"I'm sorry."

Cassidy passed by the door just in time to hear Cal screaming within and turned to Garrett wide-eyed.

Cal cried out in pain again.  "OWWWWW!!!!!"  She said, starting to cry.

"Shhh...it's okay Cass."

"That's going to be me soon...."  Cass said quietly.

"I know..."

James wiped away the tears.  "I love you, and you can do this."

"Garrett... I'm sort of scared."

"Don't be...come on, let's go upstairs."

"God this baby is huge!"

"Or coming out sideways," James offered.

"GET IT OUT!"  Cal screamed.

She nodded and let him escort her upstairs, though she took the stairs rather slowly.

James gently kissed her forehead.  "It's okay, I promise."

"It's fine Cassidy."

"Here's hoping.  I feel really, really fat, by the way."

The doctors soon had the baby out and Cal and James stared down at their little girl.  "Violet...Violet Anne Walker."  Cal whispered.

"She's beautiful..."

"She really is..."

"You're not fat."  Garrett laughed.

"What on earth do you call this?"  She rested her hands on her swollen stomach.

"Pregnant."

James kissed Cal softly.  "Thank you."

"You're welcome..."  Cal cried happily.  Then they took the child from her.  "No...give her back..."

"They're just washing her up, they'll give her back," James promised.

She hugged him and then kissed him deeply.  "I love you so much James."

"I love you too.  And now we have a baby girl to love too."

Cal nodded.  "Never leave us...please James?  Don’t abandon our daughter."

"No.  Never."

"Good.  Lay with me?"

James did so, lying down next to her.

Cass sighed.  "I guess.  This baby's going to be ready for high school by the time it's born."

"Honey it'll be out soon."

"Just hold me."

He complied, holding her close to him.  "You're amazing, you know that?"

"I want it out and I'm afraid to have it out."

"It'll be okay."

"No..."

"You are.  You just delivered the most beautiful little creature on earth."

"I hope so."  Cass paused suddenly.  "What if it's a girl??"

"Then it's a girl."

"I did..."

"I know, but we're naming it Garrett and the nursery's blue."

"It's fine."

"What do we name him if it's a her?"  Cass paused, realized that made no sense, and decided it didn't matter.

"She's amazing.  You're amazing."

"Cassidy calm down.  Okay?"

"You are too."

She sighed.  "Sorry.  I'm surprised I haven't driven you mad yet."

"I had the easy part."  The doctors brought Violet back to them.

"You just need to relax."

"Hey there beautiful baby..."  Cal whispered.

Violet made a little noise.

"I think I'm going to sit."  Cassidy gently lowered herself onto the bed.

"Awww...."  Cal cooed.  "She's so sweet..."

"Okay you sit."

She changed her mind and lay down.  "You still love me?"

"She's adorable.  And you're adorable with her."

"Of course."

"You want to hold her?"

"Even though I'm reduced to waddling along on feet I can't even find?"

"Yeah."  James gently took Violet from her mother.  "She has your middle name.  And she was born in the same city as me."

"She's ours..."

"Yes."

"Completely ours," James confirmed.

Cassidy sat up suddenly, eyes wide.  "Garrett... I think... we should... go downstairs."

"Why?"

She kissed him again.

"Because... I think we should.  Garrett, I think I'm in labor."

James cuddled their daughter close.  "She's so little..."

"I know..."

"She's precious."

"She is."

"What?  No.  No, it's too early."

"I know it's too early, Garrett, but I think I'm in labor."

"No...You can't be."

She sighed.  "You're probably right... we should wait it out.  It's probably false labor."

"I love her.  And I love her mother."

"I'll call the doctor up here."  Garret said.  "Lay back."

"And we love you."

James kissed the baby's forehead and then handed her back to Cal, kissing Cal's forehead as he did so.

"Our little girl..."

Cassidy did so, closing her eyes.

Soon the doctor came up and checked things out.  "Just relax.  You're not in labor...it's the stress."

"Look at you doing the Mommy thing," James said with a grin.

Cassidy nodded, eyes still closed and hands resting on her stomach.

"Only as long as you’re next to me doing the daddy thing."

"Cal had her baby.  7'0."

"Boy or a girl?"  Cass asked.

"Girl.  Violet Anne."

"Always," James promised.

"Both healthy?"

"Completely."

"Hey James...think we should get married?"

"Good."

"If you want to, we can do that," James said.

"Don’t sound so excited...nevermind."  Cal sighed.

"You need to relax though, Cassidy."

"I just don't want to push you into it.  I don't want you to think I'm marrying you just because of our baby, but if you want us to get married I'd be honored to call you my wife, Cal."

"Yeah..."

"Nevermind.  It was a stupid idea."

"No.  I think it was a good one."

"Yeah well maybe not."

"You can see her if you're good."  The doctor laughed.

"No?"  He gently rubbed her shoulders.

"I don't know."

Cass smiled.  "I'll keep that in mind.  Hrmph, bribery."

"Yes."

"Cal, do you want to marry me?"

"I don't know."

"Think about it," James encouraged.

"Garrett, your baby is going to be huge."  Cass smiled again as the baby kicked.  "He's squirming around again."

"If you ask...actually ask, then I may."

"I wanna feel."

"Come here," she told him.

James continued to rub her shoulders.  "I'll keep that in mind."

Garrett put his hand on her stomach.

The baby kicked again.

"Awww..."  Garrett kissed her stomach.

"Yeah."

"I'm being internally abused," Cass laughed.

"I'm sorry."

"You're going to have to teach your boy some manners."

"I will.  I promise."

"Thank you.  For our baby," James said.

"I know you will."

"Thank you too."

"I love you."

"Do you need to take a nap?"  James asked.

"I love you too... Am I resting enough for you?"

"Yeah."

"Depends.  Are you being stressed?"  Garrett asked.

"I don't know."

"Then nap.  I'll stay here."  He kissed her forehead.

"You don't know?"

"Take Violet?"

"I don't think I was stressed before."

James nodded and took the baby from her, holding their daughter close.  Violet let out a little yawn.

"You were so."

Cal fell quickly asleep.

James stayed by her side, holding his sleeping daughter as well.

"I don't know."

"Rest, I'm going to talk to James."

"Alright... I might be asleep when you get back."

"Okay."  Garrett walked downstairs.  "So this is the child..."  He said to James.

"This is her," James confirmed, smiling still.

"She's cute."

"Thank you, Boss."

"How's Cal doing?"

"Good.  She's tired but happy, and physically she's fine for having just had a baby."

"She scared the shit outta Cassidy."

"What, the screaming?"

"Yeah."

"But she's fine.  I mean it didn't tickle, but she's okay."

"I know this.  But Cassidy doesn't seem to.  I made her rest, she's too stressed about this baby thing."

"Well... she's pregnant and hormonal, I guess she's entitled."

"I know she is.  But I told her she can't come see your baby until she calms down.  Did you name her?"

"Cal named her.  Violet Anne Walker."  James smiled at the sleeping baby.

"She'll be beautiful."

"Thank you.  I certainly think so."

"I'll give you the rest of this week mostly off, to spend with your daughter and...her mother."

"Thank you, Boss," James said, not having expected it.

"What are you and Cal planning on doing anyway?"

"I'm going to ask her to marry me."

"And you think she'll say yes?"  Garrett let out a laugh.

"She brought it up first."

"Wow.  Wouldn't have expected that.  But then women are emotional after labor."

"You wait a couple weeks and see how you like it," James said with a slight grin.  "I bet she breaks a couple fingers."

"She'll turn you down James.  You know it deep down don't you?"

"Not going to stop me from asking."

"You're stupid James.  Take the kid and get rid of her."

"I appreciate the advice and all, but I'll stick to being stupid thanks, sir."  James hadn't called Garrett sir in... he honestly couldn't remember how long, but he wasn't feeling kindly toward him right now.

"Fine.  I'll see you later."
