| L110035 Branch of Service ~ Assigned to 25 Canadian Tank Delivery Elgin Regiment Enlisted ~ March 15, 1942, Age 18 years Training ~ Instrument Mechanic, Dispatch Rider, Lineman, Driver Mechanic, became wireless operator due to shortage of replacements. Overseas ~ August 26, 1943 Invasion ~ June 7, 1944, drove truck from landing barge into about five feet of water, map in hand to a meeting site in France. Overhead was heavy shelling, minesweepers were clearing the beach for us. Served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Discharge ~ February 25, 1946 |
