1. Joined the Tank Corps in Saskatoon, December 29, 1941.  Drafted to Dundern and Maple Creek.
2.  Volunteered for paratroop training and sent to Montreal and then Fort Benning, Georgia, USA for further training with paratroops.
3.  Returned to Shilo, Manitoba, then drafted overseas in July, 1943.
4.  Our permanent base was set up at Bulford, near Salisbury, England.  Was sent to Ringway, north of Manchester for British parachute training.  The Americans used two parachutes, which we packed.  The British used one, packed by Airforce women.
5.  Jumped into France on "D" Day, six hours ahead of the Beach Landings.
6.  Went by ship and truck to the Ardennes via Ostend to Traintignais and later to the Maas River area, Buggenum, Nunhem, Broek, Haelen, Holland.
7.  Jumped into Germany across the Rhine River at Wesel on March 24, 1945.  Travelled 275 miles by tank, truck on foot to Wismar where we met the Russians on May 2, 1945.
8.  V. E. Day, May 8, 1945.  Returned to Canada in June, 1945.
9.  Discharged November 10, 1946.
