History:  After the war, Alex joined the Barr Colony and settled in the Lashburn area.  He gave up farming and moved his family to the village in 1927.  A very community minded person, he served on Council, Community Hall Board, Telephone Board, Hospital Board and was People Warden of All Saints for 10 years.  All this community involvement while operating the Massey Harris Agency and later the Wilton Co-op Bulk Oil Plant.
