TheLast legs tour
The Last Legs Tour is 4 blokes cycling around Australia
for 8 months performing a comedy/musical show in towns along the way to raise
money for the Cancer Council. Leaving from Sydney
in April 2003 and returning mid November, the tour has been worked out to
the day leaving very little to chance. All local newspapers, radio, TV and
the bush telegraph will be used to advertise when the show will be hitting
various towns.
Andrew Bush, Domenick O'Keiran, James Trevaskis and Peter Green
Features of the tour
·
The Guitarcycle….. the only rideable 2 wheeled guitar in the world ! Our patented hybrid
guitar/bicycle custom made by Australia's top bicycle engineer will be ridden
by the tours musician "Bushy" as he couldn't be bothered to carry
his own guitar……. He's a lazy bastard, but a damn good singer..
·
School visits….. we will visit various
schools in the afternoons to give talks about the tour, general fitness, cancer
education, as well as a few jokes and a demo on the guitarcycle.
·
The World's Longest Pub Crawl…..arriving in each town around Lunch time, the 4
riders will head for the nearest pub for a well earned beer (strictly though..
just the one)… during which they will resource any local gossip that can be
used in that nights show (from past experience this method has proved highly
effective). An estimated 300 pubs will be visited throughout the whole TOUR
and it has been confirmed that this will be recognised by the Guinness Book
of World Records as an official world record.
the Show
The
nightly show will be a mixture of motivational speaking, slides, music and
stand-up comedy, presented by Sydney comedians Peter Green and Domenick O'Kieran
ably assisted by stuntman/roadie James Trevaskis and muso Andrew the Bush.
There will be audience participation and videos of interesting stuff/ sketches
shot along the way. As the tour progresses the show will be constantly added
to, so by the time it gets back to Sydney it will be entirely about the trip
itself.
A
whole new "on-the-road" show will emerge to be performed upon return
to Sydney and Melbourne audiences. One special part of the show will be a video
screening of stand-up comedy by Bobby C., a beloved friend of the Last Legs
cyclists who was cut down in his prime by throat cancer in mid-2002. This tour
is a tribute to Bobby and all those affected by cancer.
