Seven reported killed in Aceh violence
Reports from Indonesia's Aceh province say another seven people have died in the
military crackdown on separatist rebels.
The military has provided details of four clashes in which they killed two suspected
Free Aceh Movement (GAM) fighters - a rebel commander and a man armed with a
machete and ammunition for a rifle.
The military also says two civilians have been shot by rebel forces in South Aceh.
Another civilian who worked as a civil servant is reported to have been shot dead by
two men in front of his wife and child.
The Indonesian military is in its sixth month of a major offensive in Aceh to crush the
separatist rebels, who have been fighting for independence since 1976.
