'Situation in Poso remains heated'
JAKARTA (Antara): The situation in the Central Sulawesi town of Poso remains
heated, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security affairs Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono said on Tuesday.
He said that people in Poso are still susceptible to acts aimed at inciting conflict.
"Due to a volatile situation from which riots might develop in Poso, security has been
tightened there and those responsible for the violence must be arrested," he said after
a meeting to discuss security issues in Aceh, Papua and Poso.
He said that an investigation team had been sent to Poso but the local people had not
cooperated in naming those responsible for attacks there.
New violence erupted in Poso on Saturday night when gun-wielding assailants
attacked the village of Kilotran, 170 km southeast of Palu, killing four people including
two Balinese migrants.
