7Up goes upside-down in Orlando

Consumers in Central Florida will become the first in the nation to taste dnL, a new "upside-down" soft drink from the makers of 7Up, as it makes its official debut on Oct. 28 at noon in Orlando at WonderWorks, an upside-down building that features interactive attractions.

Hip-hop artist Erick Sermon and pop/rock star Amanda Latona are scheduled to make appearances during the event. Local radio station WXXL 106.7 FM will broadcast live from WonderWorks as well.

Targeted to teens and young adults, dnL initially will be available in clear 20-ounce bottles in select markets. Beginning in January, distribution of the soft drink will be expanded nationally. Take-home packaging is set to roll out in April 2003.

The drink will be bright green in color, will include caffeine and will feature a blend of fruit flavors.

Those unable to attend the unveiling event can still take part in the festivities by visiting http://www.eBay.com/dnL between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3 to bid on the first 30 cases of the soft drink produced in the United States.

The money raised from the auction will benefit Rock the Vote in time for the November elections.
