Czech doctor Jan Ondrus was happy to finish another stage! |

The last stage was a bit of an anticlimax. For a few days I had been reasonably confident that I would finish La Transe Gaule. The pain and loss of function in my shins still kept me from running fast, but I was happy to be able to move forward and not worry about the cut-offs. We descended from the hills onto the coastal plain of the Med on very busy roads. It was very hot with intense sun and no shade. Tedious work for 70 km. |

I ran for a while with Jan Ondrus who was struggling with a groin injury and leaned alarmingly to the right. |
