Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an
understanding of ourselves.

-C.G. Jung (1875-1961) Swiss psychologist

I have such a respect for those who write, wether it be poetry or inspirational writing. To be able to move through life and find that foundation of creativity is by far a gift.

Poetry is a vessel made up of self-expression, healing and awareness. It can become a mirror image of your soul, opening doors that you may have never known to exist.

Using poetry as a form of therapy isn’t a new concept and when looking up the Greek meaning of the word therapy it isn’t surprising to find that it is written that it comes from the Greek word therapia, meaning to nurse or care through dance, song, poem and drama.

Using poetry for self-expression and therapy is a way to capture the mood of an individual for self-realization and comfort, a method to unlock your mind.

By sharing poetry or by reading someone else’s, allows  people to see that they are not the only ones that suffering emotionally and that there are others that understand or have experienced certain issues that have been faced in life.

The beauty of poetry or any other form of writing is that you are able to express so many different types of emotions at once and the fact that our words are what will live on forever.
