BLACKBROOK 8  V   MONTON 0
This was another comprehensive victory for Blackbrook who again always tried to play good football on a difficult surface. Monton never gave up trying and never resorted to unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Blackbrook's opening goals on 10m (Adam Gilchrist), and 20m (Gareth Thomas), both went in with the aid of a deflection and in both cases the scorer used his "wrong" foot. Five minutes later Liam Philpott was fouled in the penalty area but the resulting penalty was missed when the players made a mess of the Cryuff  technique. Immediately afterwards John McGowan hit the post after a flowing 4-man movement. On 35m it became 3-0 when Liam Philpott blasted home a John McGowan pass. Three minutes later he did some impressive ball-juggling under pressure but the ensuing shot went wide.
The second half brought no relief for Monton when right from the kick-off a Danny Walsh/Liam Philpott movement brought a great save from the Monton 'keeper, followed by a Daryl McCartney shot being kicked off the line. In the 43rd minute a wonderful set of passes between Danny Walsh, Liam Philpott  Ben Dudley ended with the ball striking the crossbar.
The relentless pressure continued on 48m after the crossbar had been struck again Gareth Thomas made it 4-0.
On 55m it became 5-0 with a Liam Philpott strike & after after the post had been hit twice more Gareth Thomas made it 6-0 on 65m. A poor clearance on 74m was rifled straight into the net by Liam Philpott who completed another hat-trick. Just before the end Adam Gilchrist scored with a great individual effort to make the final score 8-0.
Once again the whole squad did well and had a superb attitude. Chris Eden, Daryl McCartney  Danny Walsh stood out for their creative resolute defensive work.
