Sat.9th April 2005 Under 16’s Hindsford Bandits 0, Ringley 3
Playing this seasons champions who have not lost all season
was never going to
be easy, but Hindsford can look back with pride on an
entertaining game.
The early exchanges were fairly even with neither goalkeeper
being really
tested.
However it was Kenny Dickenson in the Hindsford goal who had
to make the 1st
save after 18 mins from a powerful Ringley shot.
Two minutes later Ringley took the lead from a corner, when
instead of clearing
the ball, the Bandits tried to play the ball away and got
caught out.
The Bandits battled back and after good work by Adam Murphy
and Kris Smith,
Daniel Banks forced a good save from the Ringley keeper when
put through in the
penalty area.
Half time Hindsford Bandits 0, Ringley 1.
Early in the 2nd half the Bandits were unlucky not to
equalise, when a Steve
Eccles free kick was hit on to the crossbar by Matt Langin
and somehow Ringley
scrambled the ball clear.
It was now fairly even again with Hindsford having a lot of
possesion and
playing some good football at times.
Sadly, midway through the 2nd half a tame effort from
outside the penalty area
managed to creep in to give Ringley a soft goal and a 2-0
lead.
The Bandits were still not done and tried to get a goal back
and it was an
entertaining game being produced by both teams.
With 5 mins left Ryan Jones hit the Ringley post with a long
range shot as the
Bandits still searched for a goal.
In the last minute Ringley made it 3-0 and game over afer a
free kick was not
cleared the the Hindsford defence.
An entertaining game throughout, well refereed by Dave
Renshaw, but in truth he
had an easy game as both teams played the game in a good and
sporting manner.
Well done to Ringley on winning the league.
Final Score Hindsford Bandits 0, Ringley 3
Alan Banks
Hindsford.
