Sat. 18th Sept Under 16’s    Hindsford Bandits 6, Monton 3

Back to winning ways after last weeks defeat.

It took Hindsford only 6 mins to take the lead when Matt Durkin, back after injury , put in Dale Glover to score from just inside the penalty area.

The Bandits increased their lead 2 mins later, when Monton failed to clear a corner and Adam Farnworth scored with a good shot from just outside the box to make it 2-0.

Hindsford were passing the ball about really well and it came as no surprise when after 15 mins they scored again, and what a good goal it was.

Daniel Banks cut in from the right wing , beat two defenders then curled in a superb shot from outside the penalty area which gave the Monton keeper no chance.

A minute later brother Jonathon Banks almost made it four with a great long range effort but this time the keeper tipped it over the bar.

Monton tried to get into the game and had a couple of good shots but these were confidently dealt with by Lance Heath in the Bandits goal.

If fact it was Hindsford who nearly scored again when a good cross was headed against the crossbar by Ryan Jones.

Half-time     Hindsford Bandits 3, Monton 0

The early stages of the 2nd half were fairly quiet with the Bandits in control and Monton trying their best to get back into the game but not creating any real chances.

After 15 mins Dale Glover created a chance for Kris Smith who finished well from the corner of the penalty area to make the score 4-0.

5 mins later Daniel Banks got his 2nd and Hindsfords 5th with another good shot, again curling in from just outside the area when he received a good pass from Matt Langin.

It looked like Monton were down and out but not so, they managed to beat the Bandits offside trap and pull a goal back with 15 mins of the game left.

Hindsford responded in the best way when a long goal kick was headed down by Dave Gunning for Adam Murphy to score with another great finish to make it 6-1 to the Bandits.

With the game nearly won Hindsford relaxed a bit, in fact a bit too much and allowed Monton to grab a couple of late goals and the game ended 6-3 to the Bandits.

Generally a good performance from Hindsford with other good performances from Steve Eccles and Adam Farnworth in defence and Daniel Banks and Dale Glover in attack with Matt Langin prompting well from midfield.
