In the main the age group was running well with just a few minor problems, one off the main concerns being access to the fixtures. In addition Inter League squad was to be overseen by Alan Todd of Mosley Common. It was noted for the record that the squad would be playing friendlies, the matter to be discussed later in the meeting.
Paul Clarke
Not present
N Beard
Stated the under 18 section was only five teams and didn’t envisage too many problems. He hoped that the good rapport that had been built up through his work on the league website would follow on when dealing with teams as league representative.
Referees Appointments Secretary
Mr Tighe stated that he had taken over from Mr Yates who would be concentrating on fixtures for the forth coming season. Also match officials had been added to the league management system being utilised under the auspices of Goalhaus. However to ensure ease of progress printed versions would be available at the managers meeting, in addition to information on how to access the website.
Fixtures Secretary
Not available
Registrations secretary
Mr Packwood said the majority of teams had registered some players; however some had been lethargic to say the least. Forms had been passed without correct documentation or the form was incomplete. He stated that teams would be given an ultimatum at the managers meeting and be told the honeymoon was over.
Treasurer’s report
Mr Wise gave his usual competent overview of the league’s finances, being as follows a total of £3078.12 was being held in the league accounts Some payments were due in and some were due to be paid out, teams second payment would be due imminently
General Secretary
Mr Tighe said in general the league was going well with only the change over to internet for accessing fixtures. This would be resolved at the meeting by distribution of printed copied of fixtures and match officials at the managers meeting.
Inter League
The placement of a representative team at each of the levels
in the league was discussed, Mr Bear stated that it would be totally
impractical to have an under 18 team. It was agreed the under 16 would also be
in a similar situation. The under 12 would only be playing friendlies and would
not be entered into either the Lancashire or
Cup finals dates and venues
It was agreed the facilities at Atherton LR were excellent and would be utilised once again this season, we could probably play all three finals on one day. This would be a good idea as it would mean Officers only being troubled for their services on one day. In addition a single programme could be produced. It was agreed a date in April was appropriate and the Secretary would communicate with Atherton LR.
Presentation Evening
A question was posed do we need to run such an event, after due discussion it was agreed that the league could benefit from such an event. A football celebrity should be asked to present the trophies and as the event had been successful in previous seasons it was felt that league would be lessened without such an event.
With no other business the meeting was closed at 9 07pm
