What is Midnight?
Due to the overwhelming presence of contemporary mainstream movies at other college film societies, the Executive Committee of Trinity Films has deemed it necessary to provide--as a service to the local community--an alternative screening venue to show non-mainstream, non-readily available motion pictures to fellow Trinitarians and other university residents. Midnight, the guerilla-wing of Trinity Films, will be offering an unconventional Lent slate in addition to highlighting other worthwhile university screenings that occur during term.
When and Where?
Although admission is free, unlike the regular Trinity Films schdeule, there are no set dates or times for Midnight's screenings. Although the name of the group would imply midnight showings--which we did in fact institute last term--we at Midnight found such a schedule both troublesome and wearying. You try going to sleep at 2 a.m. and then attending lectures and supervisions the next day.... For obvious reasons, we have discontinued screenings at the witching hour. Despite this, we intend to preserve the spirit of midnight movies in Trinity college albeit at a more reasonable hour.
What gives with that girl in all the banners?
We like Jun Ji-hyun, who was in My Sassy Girl last term at the Picture House. It was really good seeing that film on the big screen despite the movie being the slightly edited-down, commercial-release version.
What about Cha Tae-hyn, then?
Yes, Mr. Cha is an affable young man. What exactly is your point? He's no Ahn Sung-kee is that's what you're driving at.
