Welcome to NCC Drafting! This is an event for cyber dogs. Here cyber dogs can win the title DRCh.!!
This club was established to appreciate the value of the working dog. Although real life drafting is traditionally reserved for larger breeds, cyber drafting is open to all breeds!
About Drafting *NEW*
Drafting, sometimes called Carting, is a sport based on the original purpose of several heavy working breeds. Breeds such as the Bernese Mountain Dog, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and Newfoundland assisted fishermen, farmers, and craftsmen by towing heavy carts, or sometimes sleds, from place to place. These dogs were a great help to their masters, who needed strong draft animals to assist them but often couldn't afford horses or mules. Even today, in several countries, these big dogs are referred to as the "poor man's horse." Cyber drafting is based on real life dog drafting tests, in which the dog completes an obstacle course while harnessed to a wagon or cart.
There are five levels in cyber drafting: DD1, DD2, DD3, DT4, and DT5. There are draft dog levels (DD) and draft team levels (DT). Every dog has a 50% chance of passing its level on each attempt, and the results are random. If a dog fails the same level more than four times in a row, it is retired from the sport of cyber drafting and cannot be entered again. This is rare, but just like in real life, some dogs just aren't suited for drafting.
Once a dog passes DD3, it must then attempt team drafting. This is the difficult part, because in order for a dog to pass team drafting, it must be entered with another member of the same breed that is at the same level. For the purposes of this event, dogs belonging to two different breeds that often interbreed and produce offspring considered purebred (e.g. Long-haired and Short-haired Saint Bernards) may also be entered together. In team drafting, either both dogs will pass or both will fail, since it is a team. For team drafting levels (DT4 and DT5), the two dogs do not have to belong to the same owner. That is, two owners can enter their dogs together as a team, but I must receive the entry from both owners!
Each owner can enter up to 5 dogs in a given test. This includes dogs entered individually and dogs entered in a team. If two owners enter their dogs in a team together, each owner counts only their dog in their entry limit.
Once a dog has passed all five levels, it receives the title DRCh. at the end of its name!
