 The Silence Of Snow
 By Lisa Ann Sorlie

Here it is dusk again, only this time
a cold wind blowing across the land.
As I raise my eyes to the heavens
 snow begins to descend.

 It sheepishly covers the ground
as not to disturb a thing in its sight.
I bend to touch this miracle.
it is as soft as a baby's blanket.

 Despite its coldness
it brings warmth to the soul.
Time passes by and the ink of night
has set in and as it does
an aura of light is given off
by the blanket that covers the earth.

As the morning sky peaks through
 All roads, and walkways quiet.
There unfolds a beauty before my eyes.
The snowflakes have clung to the trees
as if they were fallen dreams.
 Dreams to be started
 dreams to be finished
 Only each flake knows.

 As I stand in awe
and see the beauty of its silence
 My heart can't help
but hear a resounding sound of joy.

 For I Have been touched
 by The Silence of Snow.
 It is a rare commodity
in this world of noisy scurry.

 So be still and hear
 The Silence Of Snow
 So that your hearts
may hear the joyous song as well.
