By the time I turned fifteen, I had attended all the various churches with my classmates. I also studied the Bible and what I got from it is that Jesus came on earth to ove and to show love -- not to judge others.
When I was sixteen, we moved to the Gonzaga University area in Spokane, Wa. There were also two private Catholic girls' schools and one Catholic boys' school in the area. I decided to join the Catholic Church and attend Holy Names Academy but only for the music and pagentry. I didn't believe in many of their doctrines.
I eventually married in the Catholic Church believing that once you got married you lived happily ever after. Turns out that that wasn't true and so I got a divorce and moved to San Fransisco. Once there, I tried different philosophies and all the New Age stuff. What it came down to was that if I could take bits and pieces from each religion/doctrine, I would have a perfect way of life.
Four years after I moved to Manteca, I met a fellow flight attendant who practiced Sahaja Yoga and gave me my self-realization. At first I set out to prove them wrong and to find fault with this meditation. But I finally realized that this is what I had been looking for to make my life complete. It was a perfect combination, and within three months, I saw a huge transformation in my life. Now I wouldn't give Sahaja Yoga up for anything.
