Hello, my name is Katharine. I was born in Shikoku, Japan in November, 1955, to a Japanese mother and an American father. My mother and I moved to United States, settling in Southern California in August, 1956.
I grew up in and around the Los Angeles area, though my favorite place to be was Hermosa Beach. My cousin lived there and I spent all my weekends and school holidays there. As I got older, I would skip school (ssssssshhhhh), to go there. I was what you might call a "Beach Bunny."
I attended college in hopes of becoming an Attorney. Though in my 2nd year I suffered a nervous breakdown and became "agoraphobic" for 2.5 years. Phew, what a ride that was. Through intense therapy and the help and love of friends and family, I became stronger, though, not much wiser at that point.
In 1982, I met and married Charles . And in 1984, I had Samantha, a beautiful blonde baby girl. In 1988, I had my son Brendan. For pictures and information on my family please see Photographs and Memories.
In 1987, we moved from the Los Angeles Basin to Northern Los Angeles County, Palmdale, California. In 1998, Charles and I divorced, not a pretty one I might add.
Then, a miracle happened. His name: Don. In May, 1999, while chatting on ICQ with some friends, I was messaged by a fellow named Don. "Hi, my name is Don and I'm from Oregon." Wow...strange. At the time I was dating a guy named Don, from Portland, currently living in Los Angeles. Two weeks later, I broke up with the "local" Don.
