When no average pilot could master the Tallgeese, the Romefeller Foundation created a downsized version called Leo. A Leo is relatively unremarkable, and certainly no match for a Gundam, but is highly versatile and can use almost any weapon available. A Leo is usually armed with a 105mm chain gun, but can be fitted with a Dobergun for artillery duty, a Bazooka for anti-air combat, a Beam Saber inside it's shield, and officer Leos mount a pair of cannons on each shoulder. Also, Space Leos are armed with a small Beam Rifle. A Leo's coloration marks what variation it is: An Army Green Leo is the most common version, used heavily by the Alliance and Oz. A dark blue Leo is the prototype version, used exclusively by the Romefeller Foundation. A purple Leo is the space version used by the Alliance, simply called a Space Leo, and a light blue Leo is an Oz Space Leo. A Leo can be modified in several ways. Newer models will have braces on their shoulder joints (As seen below and to the right) to reinforce their fragile connections. However, A Leo with a shield will have to compromise one brace to mount the shield joint. The newest model, piloted by Treize Khushrenada before the Eve Wars alowed both braces to remain even with the shield and had increased armor plating. It can also be fitted with a Jetpack which allows it to fly as fast as a Aires. Zechs battled the Wing Gundam as it entered the atmosphere with a green Leo armed with a Dobergun and Beam Saber. Zechs' superior skills had the 'fighter' going down with a pair of rounds from the Dobergun.Just as victory seemed his, the fighter transformed into a mobiule suit. Suddenly Zechs' Leo didn't look so strong anymorel... After dispatching both of Zechs' Aires with one shot from it's buster rifle, Zechs decided to engage the Gundam in close combat, discarding his Dobergun in favor of the Beam Saber. The Gundam blocked Zechs attack, but not before coming too close to the Ocean to pull up. Zechs bailed at the last second and both suits crashed ito the water. After whitnessing the power of the Gundam, Zechs decided not to bring up the Leo from the depths, being as it was no match for the Gundam. He needed something more powerful. . .
