Adam's Narrative of his Honor Guard Inspection
On Friday morning, the 6th of December, I was awakened at 07:00 by very loud yelling. I lay in my bed for a few minutes listening....*What's an E-7 in the Army....WHAT?! You don't know what an E-7 is?? How do you expect to succeed at SCIDM??* The sleep finally creeped out of my brain and I realized that I was listening to a similar dialogue to the one I experienced at my Honor Guard Inspection last year. I had just begun to wonder why I was hearing all the comotion, since it was supposed to take place at Husky Stadium and it was supposed to be over by about 6:30 or so. Then I heard a familiar voice...a voice belonging to Adam. At the same time, Maria (whom I had thought was sleeping) asked, "Lily, do you hear Adam too?" I answered, "Yes!" and we both jumped out of bed...there right outside our window on the sidewalk below was Adam...in his boxers, a T-shirt, and no shoes...getting yelled at by a group of fully uniformed cadets. The following is the full story in his words...please enjoy!!
This is Adam!!

Getting torn out of your bed and inspected in your boxers in front of the hall you live in at 07:30 is a great way to start the day...I would know."
--the AIM away message that Adam                      left up all day after the 'inspection'
"I was sleeping with my face to the wall. I heard the door open but didn't pay any attention...thought it was Brian. All of a sudden three fully dressed cadets were yelling at me to get out of bed and asking me what time it was and asking me if I knew that i missed inspection. I slowly rolled over, looked up at them, and then rolled out of bed and stood at attention. They proceeded to leave the room so I hopped back in bed. Then Stephens came in and told me to get out of bed and come outside. He told me to put a shirt on, so I did. So I was in a shirt and boxers being excorted by these cadets outside all the while walking by team members who were in the hall and holding doors and such. So they marched me outside and I just kind of stood around and then asked if I could go put some pants on because I heard some people PTing around the Det and figured they were going to inspect me in front of all those people. They told me no because it wouldn't take that long and Balocki pointed to a spot directly in front of him. So I went over and stood at attention. They looked at each other, nodded, and the yelling started. I knew everything except E-7. I think they were dissappointed that I was prepared. Afterward they explained why they did it...teamwork stuff and whatnot. I agreed, appologized. They complimented me on my 'uniform' and knowledge. I made some jokes. They took off and I was locked out because I don't tend to carry keys in my boxers. So I waited and Sara from down the hall opened the door. I said, "Don't ask", ran upstairs past three girls, and back into my dorm after talking to Breanne, then went back to bed and slept through all my classes. That's it. Happy?"
