OK so my updates have not been great. But I have been a busy girl! This last Friday Jane, Breanne, and I went to the Honor Guard spaghetti feed and later that night Mark joined us for Waking Ned Devine (a hilarious movie..."but Molly...I've been usin' fruity soaps!") Saturday I studied all day in Starbuck's with Erin and Jane. That evening Jane's parents took us to dinner and then Jane and I went to a Cranium party at Jen and Megan's apartment (social work buddies of mine). It was sooo mcuh fun...a good blend of people who all got along :-) Sunday Jane, Erin, Cathy and I went to a church service called Jubilee! It was at the Jubilee Evangelical Church near campus and it lasted three hours! The talk was a good one, but the speaker couldn't get his message across in a timely manner. It go to the point where i was writing down what his point was going to be before he made it. There was lots of singing which was fine in the beginning, but after 2.5 hours of sermon it was hard to get into the same songs again. Jane, Cathy and I went out for food and spent some goo times laughing together (see the quote page for a good one about stalking).
This afternoon Jane and I made a trip to
Enumclaw to listen to the band she wants to play at her wedding. We had car trouble right away (fixed it easily by putting 2 quarts of oil into a ridiculously empty oil tank) but the muffler was in the back seat so it was a very noisy ride! We had trouble finding a road but the helpful high school girl was nice enough to tell us we hadn't been driving on the road long enough (another good quote). Map quest told us to travel on that road for about 12 miles.....Jane and I say about 25....way to measure in distances as the cros flies.
   Anyway, tomorrow begins
Lent and Erin and I are fasting for the day! It'll be touch with school and eveyrthing, but should be intense and a good experience also. Hopefully we'll get to work in some prayer time together too, but we'll have to see.
    GOING TO SEE THE
PASSION ON FRIDAY!!
And now going to bed...beacuse it's appropriate at this time of night...or morning.

February 02, 2004
So last week was so intense. I've never had such a complex combination of life stresses and shcool stresses and economic stresses (which are continuing this week since I dont' get paid until the 10th). There were some good times mixed in there though Friday night was spent studying and getting to bed early. Saturday morning Breanne and I went wedding dress shopping with Jane!! Although we didn't find anything good (for under $2500 at least) it was so much fun to be a part of it. I can't wait to see the one she buys! That evening I went to an Indian Dance Competition with Anuja...it was so cool!!! The music was traditional INdian music mixed in with modern hip hop (like 50 cent) and the dancing was so awesome. I'd pay the $5 to see that anyday. Afterwards she and I tried to go visit the boys at the soroity but they were all sleepy from HG initiation so I studied more. Sunday morning was church and baby-sitting as usual except for the 9 kids that Lindsay and I had that morning. It was crziness! Compared to our usual 3 at the most. After that was the Silver Wings candidate class (they all passed thoer test) and then back home to study more! At around 10pm Cathy and I went out for Chai tea and Hot Chocolate at Starbuck's and had an awesome talk that lasted a really long time!! An now I must study again or I will fall even farther behind!

JANUARY 2004
January 26, 2004
Our weekend with Lori was lots of fun! We got bubble tea and played cards for a long time at Yunnie's. Saturday we went ice skating for 3.5 hours!! It was cold and tiring, but so fun...plus I can skate backwards now! The rest of Saturday was spent studying and then that evening Breanne, Lori, and I all had a girls night and watched Chicago. Sunday morning we went to churhc of course and I babysat. After that us girls went down to the University Village. We had hopes that Cathy would be there working at Starbuck's so we could visit with her and study there, but she had just left and it was packed! We had to study in the Starbuck's in Barnes & Nobles instead. But we got so much done! Then we did a little grocery shopping and then went back to the dorms for dinner and such. Saturday evening we (Mark, Anuja, Breanne, Lori and I) made an appearance at Erin's birthday party, beat all the boys at poker, and then went back to the dorms. Lori had to go home on Monday, but we had a chance to wander around downtown before we left her at the train station. Then it was back to
the grindstone with studying.
This weekend we hung out with all our people from OCF! It was soooo much fun! Breanne and I did our weekly swimming (or annual according to her...) and then showered really really fast and we all met at the HUB for bowling! Breanne got her first 3 strikes ever and she broke 100 (107) for the first time. After bowling we all went to get ice cream at the mix and then we headed over to Frank and Mark's apt. for Mau (it's a card game that is super fun with as many people as we had). I'd tell you more about the card game, but then I'd be penalized and that's never fun! Saturday was pretty much all stuyding for me since I had a big test today. In the evening we did hang out at the cohim's apt. again to watch Zoolander and play hearts and spades. The cohorts won both games....Breanne and I have decided that we're just good at cards...we have no strategy so no one can predict what we will do! Sunday was all studying again except for church and babysitting (really cute kids!!!). Took my test and it was hard, but I don't think I did any worse than anyone else and it's graded on a curve. Time for lunch!

January 13, 2004
Well, this past weekend was a pretty good one. Friday afternoon
Breanne and I went swimming (plus we went in the sauna!) and it felt really good. We managed to tread water for 10 minutes and I was very impressed with myself since I am SO out of shape. Anyway, that evening we both went to Mark and Frank's apt. to watch Pirates of the Caribbean...finally I have seen this movie!!! I loved it...Johnny Depp was hilarious and Orlando Bloom was awesome as well...and I love the music of course. Saturday was a study day until the afternoon when Breanne's mom and grandma arrived for a visit! That night they took us (Mark, Frank, Breanne, and me) out for dinner at The Olive Gardern! Great food is a wonderful thing. After they went back to their hotel room, Breanne, Mark and I talked for an undisclosed period of time. Needless to say we were tired in church the next morning...plus the daycare had 20 kids instead of the usual 4 so I was very tired by the time I got back to my dorm room. This made the rest of the day was realtively unproductive, but I managed to get my weekly log done for my practice class and have a cohort time with Breanne. Anyway, I have a packed schedule this week, so I need to get as much reading as possible done now, so this will be the end of the update. But LORI COMES THIS WEEKEND!!

Later on January 6, 2004
Well we had our fun in the snow. There was about 5 inches everywhere we went. So first we (
Breanne, Jouver, and me) called Mark and convinced him that he wanted to play in the snow. Then we went to his apartment and waited around the corner ready to ambush him. We got him pretty good and it was great fun. Breanne and I rolled down a hill (I lost my keys and cell phone in the process) several times. Luckily Breanne managed to spot my keys (don't ask me how) and we called my cell phone and followed the ringing! And all was well. Then Breanne and I had a snowball fight with Mark and a random boy at the bus stop! No one won, but Breanne and I dodged pretty much every snowball they threw. Everyone got hit really well at least a few times though. We also made a snow-turtle and a snow-dolphin/whale/swordfish....they were pretty cool looking and I hope they are stil there tomorrow (if the snow is still there as well). After that we were frozen and I had a huge lump on my leg from a fall somewhere along the way. Each of us had a pretty good fall. Mark was walking along the sidewalk (with his hands INSIDE his pockets) and slipped on the sidewalk....after we figured out that he wasn't hurt, it was hilarious. Breanne fell when she tried to warn me about an oncoming snowball (see quote of the day) and I fell while sliding down a hill and I tripped over a parking barrier that was covered with snow...apparently I landed on the bolt that was sticking out because there is a nice round mark on top of a very large bump on my leg now! But it was ALL worth it because we got to be children again today. Unfortunately now it is back to studying and later the INN...

January 6, 2004
IT'S SNOWING BUCKETS HERE AND CLASSES ARE CANCELLED! How cool is this? I'm hoping that all of us UW buddies can get together and have a snowball fight or something before this winter wonderland is gone!! Anyway, I'll tell you all about our snow adventures later!

January 4, 2004
OK so now that I'm not taking 20 credits, it's my new resolution to update my website more often. Break was really really fun! Christmas is always good with family and friends. We had my great aunt/uncle over for Christmas Eve and we all went to my aunt/uncle's place on Christmas day! New Years Eve was fun too because I got to go to my church's New Years Eve Ball! It was so much fun. We all got to dress up and dance fun dances (the Gay Gordon polka, the Posty's Reel, etc.). Josh and I almost killed his parents during the Gay Gordon but it was great fun! Unfortunately I didn't get to stay the whole time, but it was fun anyway.
I also got to see LOTR: Return of the King on the ginormous Cinerama movie screen!!! It was Mrs. Lapointe, Mr. Allbritton, Amber, Little Josh (Lapointe), Big Josh (Wenzek), and me. Good times with great people. Little Josh and Mr. Allbritton stood out in the freezing cold for 2 hours while the rest of us went to get food. Josh bought himself a scarf and a beanie because it was about 25 degrees outside and he had only a fleece pullover. The movie was awesome of course and this time I didn't have to leave in the middle to go to the bathroom!
I'm glad to be back to school, but I'm not sure I'm excited to get back to doing school type stuff. Someday I'll add new pictures too. Anyway, now that I'm less busy this site should be updated regularly and if you want to know what happened last quarter, then please go to my
cohort's website!!
Now it's time to start preparing for school tomorrow! Talk to you all later!

DECEMBER 2003
Apparently nothing happened in my life during December....Christmas was in there somewhere along with family and friends!

NOVEMBER 2003
November 22, 2003
THE HUSKIES WON THE APPLE CUP!!! We beat OSU and we beat UofO and we beat THE COUGARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoohoo!!! I am at Breanne's house right now (after ARCON) but I will write all about this weekend later!

November 17, 2003
I don't even see why I bother with this webpage....but this past weekend was very fun so I will write about that. It was Mil Ball weekend! Saturday morning
, cohort and I woke up way to early (although later than we planned) to go shopping on the Ave. for the boys' flowers, a lemon and a single rose (for the POW/MIA table), and some stuff to do our hair. Then we went back in our rooms and pretended to study, but we were way to distracted and excited. At 3 I went to Erin's room to show her my dress and borrow some jewlery. Then at 4:30-ish Jane started on Breanne's hair and I started on my nails and make-up. Since I have no idea how to describe Breanne's hair in writing I will include a picture. Then Jane did my hair and I did Breanne's eyeshadow and nails. Then we were dressed and ready to go....and shaking like leaves. Nervousness had set in...I think it was a combination of wanting the boys to be pleased and being nervous because we were dressed up and we wanted to look cute and we were nervous about dancing, etc.....and it got worse when the boys called to say they were close. We waited for them at the top of the staircase and Jane and Jouver took pictures as we came down. I think the boys were happy...they were in uniform so they automatically were looking sharp. They rented a new Volvo to drive us downtown to the Crowne Plaza and we mingled for a while before finding our seats. We had good salad, good chicken and great dessert! The guest speaker was actually speaking for the guest speaker (who lost his voice). He either didn't get any practice time whatsovever or he had a tad too much to drink. Anyway after that it was time for dancing...leave it to our dates to be the first ones on the dance floor! We finally got into it and managed to have a fun time...lots of slow songs were played, but that's OK because I know how to dance to those! After the dance we tried to go to bubble tea but it was closed...some people got ice cream but I was too cold for that. Then we went to Dan's and danced a little more and finished an extremely large puzzle. Mark DJ'd with Breanne while Frank and I ran around making sure that some people didn't do themselves harm while intoxicated. Needless to say I didn't get to bed until 6:30am...but I'm glad we were there to help some friends out. I did manage to get to church at 11:30 to babysit but I am feeling the lack of sleep now, let me tell you.
OH, and the weekend before this, Breanne's friend Rob came to visit us and we ended up playing cards until 4am in the morning and then getting into random sorts of mischief ending with a visit to Cathy a
t Startbuck's (around 6am again). So maybe I am tried from a combination of Rob's weekend and Mil Ball weekend...this weekend is ARCON weekend, which won't be much better! But I am having fun and still managing to do surprisingly well in my classes. But now I do need to sleep a little bit! G'nite!

OCTOBER 2003
October 29, 2003
Babysitting was so much fun!! Mary Margaret is a very cute little girl and very affectionate. She's not one yet so she's still pretty dependent. Anyway, good times. Sunday we (Mark, Breanne, and I) all went t
o church in the morning and I got to be in the toddler room for the child care...I made little friends there. :-) Sunday evening Mark, Breanne, Frank, and I all went to the Hymn sing-along at church. The first part was a lot of history and we could have fit in so much more singing without it, but overall it was a great time. They should do it every Sunday! They took requests and ours was first (if you had been there, you would know why...it's convincing to have four of you in the front row waving your hands...) We sand "God Will Take Care of You" in honor of Breanne and we sang Be thou My Vision (Mark's request) After it was over, we still hadn't had our fill and they let us go up front to sing more. I played the piano and it was great fun. Hahaha....the leader said we should join the choir and sing an offeratory one Sunday. Who knows, it might happen. Breanne will play the piano and Mark and I will sing...maybe. After singing we wandered all over the Ave. looking for an open bubble tea store...finally found one and Frank and I played a game of Othello...if you don't know what it is, dont' feel bad, I didn't either...but I won! My cohort told me to take over all the corners and I did! That's about it for this week. I am now sick (caught what Breanne had...kind of inevitable really) but I will keep pluggin'. This Sunday we go to visit the Greenlees!!! Good times and good food to be had by all. G'nite for now!

October 25, 2003
Well. A lot has happened since school started...which isn't surprising seeing as how I've been here for almost 5 weeks now. We've had a surprise birthday party for Mark (we sent him all over our dorm building on a scavenger hunt), two football games (got sunburned at one and froze at the other), only one band rally :-(
tons of bubble tea, and plenty of late nights doing random things (sitting on the University of Washington sign waving to people at 2am, visiting Jeff at his sorority, etc.) Last night Jouver, Breanne, Frank, and I went with Jane and her crew to celebrate Tommy's return from Iraq (he's in the Marines). Jake was there along with some new people I'd never met before (Annie, Eric, and Aaron). Breanne and I managed to sit at the end of the table with Frank, Jake, and Aaron....the small jokes never ended and I think that Frank traumatized the people sitting behind us. Fun times! After dinner, Darcy picked up the four of us (Jouver, Frank, and Breanne) plus Mark and we headed over to Nicki's apartment for a housewarming. We had so much food and I don't remember when I've laughed so hard. Got to see Molly, Nicki, Andrew, and Scott all of whom I haven't seen in YEARS (or months but whatever) Anyway today I babysit a really cute baby so I should eat lunch and get ready to go! I'll try and keep this updated weekly now....try being the operative word. Love you all (all 2 of you who read this Lori and Breanne)

October 23, 2003
So I'm still alive. Finally got this stupid thing to work on my computer so I can update now. The quotes page has been updated. Right now I don't feel like updating my entire first four weeks of school because it's late and I don't have time. So for some quick updates go to m
y cohort's page because we basically do everything together! I'll fill in the gaps tomorrow.

SEPTEMBER 2003

September 16, 2003
Wow, I'm good at keeping up with these updates, aren't I? Since the barn dance I have been working a lot at th
e Forget-me-Not Farm, and I've fallen in love. It's so beautiful up there on their hill and I love the feeling I get when I weed a portion of the garden and I can actually see the difference I've made. It's fun to harvest food and then watch people buy and enjoy it too. Somehow it just relaxes me. Josh keeps trying to pay me but I won't let him. I'm good at that game ;-). On Sunday, my cohort came up to visit me. It was great to see her! She drove on the ferry with her car all by herself! Once she got to the bowling lanes, we took off for adventures...sort of. I showed her the farm and then we went home so she could clean up and stuff. We stopped by Trish's and visited with her for a while. Then we went to church and watched the Good Tidings team practice. After that a group of us went to Amber's house to watch Equillibrium. Breanne and I did a mad dash run to the grocery store for snacks and ended up getting a pizza from the lanes as well. After the movie we came back home and had a good looooong girl talk. It was greatly needed! Saturday we woke up way to early and went to Port Townsend. We spent most of our time in the book stores and the Mexican restaurant. It was fun to walk around the town. Then we went home and put on While You Were Sleeping...I took a very nice nap, but Breanne enjoyed the movie! Nate came around 8-ish and we watched Sister Act II. We all crahsed in the living room and in the morning Nate and I took Breanne to pick up her car and said goodbye to her. :-( After that Nate and went into Langley for a bit, then he had to go home too. Tonight I bowled in the league...I did so bad!! I couldn't believe myself. Tomorrow should be better. I'm bowling in the morning and then I hope to work on the farm. After that it's the farewell dinner for Bre (from the Island)!

September 6, 2003
Well a lot has happened since I updated last. First off, I just got home from a barn dance a
t Lois's!! It was sooo much fun! We danced all sorts of fun country dances. You know how you watch an old movie and the people just all know how to the same dance? Well I now know how to do that! Awesome...good work out too. We had professionals teaching us and tons of people were there. We had a little problem with getting the guys to ask girls to dance. They enjoyed playing with the football, but dancing not so much. We managed to force some of them into it, but they were being so dumb about it! It's not like you're gonna marry the person! Anyway, I had a blast and I can't wait for the next one! Hopefully around New Years...and you are all invited! On Thursday Nate came up to visit me!! It was so much fun! We started out playing tennis at South Whidbey...we even trespassed inside so Nate could change in the bathroom. Got lots of weird looks from people who probably thought we should be in class. Anyway, he killed me the first set
(6-0) but I managed to beat him the second (6-4). So as of now we are tied! Yay. After tennis we stopped by the bowling alley and I showed him around and we bowled a game. Then we went t
o Coupeville and walked along mainstreet. We stopped at the Knead 'n' Feed and got one of their giant cinnamon rolls and ate it down at the beach. Then we stopped at home and decided to go up to Deception Pass and a little Bay nearby. We saw lots of crabs walking in the water...giant ones that should be eaten. Unfortunately we had not the capability to do so. After that we made our way back down the island to the bowling alley again. Made some introductions (and managed to walk right into a league meeting) and then it was time to take him back to the ferry :-(. But it was awesome that he got to come and visit me. Breanne and Jouver will be the next two to experience island life! Can't wait! I'll try and plan this visit out more. Sorry Nate :-( But now it's time for bed because I have church early in the morning! G'nite!

September 1, 2003
It was fun hanging out with Sheila
. Brad was at a photography class so she had lots of free time. We went into Langley and looked around in all the shops. We spent most of our time in the bookstore looking at books we had no room for at home. After Langley it was dinner time (we spent about 4 hours there!) so we went back to my house, and she stayed for dinner. We talked forever about everything under the sun and somehow ended up downstairs looking at all my old children's books. Random, but fun times :-). Jenn's party was lots of fun, but kinda sad. I was the first one there, but Christian was only a couple minutes behind me. Pretty soon tons of people were there! I got to spend some time with people I haven't seen in a while, like Colby, Tom, Amber, Josh, etc. I learned how to do the rhythm on the cup thing (only my cohort will understand what it is since she listened to it all through Creation...) We played lots of ping pong and jumped on the trampoline...and ate lots of food of course! After things quieted down and people started leaving, I played the piano a while and then Josh, Amber and I sang some hymns. Josh and Amber sing beautifully, and we didn't sound too bad...I gave up on playing the piano and reading the words so we were singing a capella. When it got late, we cleared out of the house so we wouldn't bother Jenn's mom and dad and we talked for a while. We all left one by one so Jenn could say goodbye to us individually. Amber and I were the last to leave (I drove her home) and it was pretty sad. Jenn and I are used to it since I've already "left" for college, but it was really tough on Amber. However, I trust that Jenn will be the good corresponder (word?) that she is and keep in touch with us. On a happier note, mom and I went garage saleing the other day and we found two Brita water pitchers at two different sales for $1 each. So now I have two big ones! We make good finds, if I do say so myself :-). It's almost time for the bowling alley to open up again. Saturday afternoon I re-stocked all the soda, juice, water, beer, candy, and snacks and sorted through all the new shoes and threw out the old. But I got the easy jobs...my dad fixed up all the lanes and stripped and waxed the floors and shampooed the carpet (over 2 days) and my mom has been fixing up the women's bathroom for a while now. But it looks good...so if anyone is up on Whidbey Island, stop in and bowl a few games!! :-)

AUGUST 2003
August 26, 2003
Breanne and I had a tennis match today. We played pretty badly. My serves got progressively worse and Breanne was not her usual self at the net...that and they never hit it to me when I was at the net. What's up with that? Sunday afte
r church mom and I went down to grandma's house to celebrate her birthday. We ate at Black Angus and ordered 4 appetizers plus a main course. Grandma got a free dessert for her birthday and they sang to her : ). It was much fun! Monday morning we got up at the crack of dawn....well not really but we were out of the house by 8:45am. According to my mom it was imperative that we get to St. Vincent DePaul's by 9:00am so we could be there right when it opened. They were having a sale where orange tags were 24 cents and yellow tags were 50 cents. She was right though...there were people waiting to get in the doors and they shoved around and pushed to get in. Insane. But I got some really nice things that I don't think have been worn. New work out pants, and lavender skirt, a white sweater set, and a short khaki skirt. All in all a good day I'd say. We also went to Costco. What a great place. I now have numerous breakfast bars and granola bars for the dorm, a box of nerds with many individual boxes inside, and some Brita replacement filters...too bad they didn't have the actual Brita. But I got a mini-Brita from my grandma and a crock pot. Yummy! Anyway, tomorrow Sheila and I are hanging out then she's coming back to my house for dinner (and maybe Brad will come too...he's Sheila's husband and my cousin) Sometime this week I hope to see Jenn so I can say a proper farewell to her before she leaves on Friday. But we'll probably get to talk more this year since she's going to be at school in Spokane. She's going to Whitworth and Breanne is going to Central. So I know they'll catch the IM bug and join in on all the late-night talking : ). Well I think that is about it, so I must go to sleep now. Waking up early to clean house! G'nite all.

August 16, 2003
    Wow, th
e fair was sooo much fun!! I've never been to a big fair like that and I am amazed. All of the animals and all of the people and all of the FOOD. We got there about a half an hour after it opened and left about a half an hour before it closed (with a little 3 hour break in the middle). My favorite were the bunnies and the horses. They also had chinchillas...I don't know when they became a famr animal, but whatever, they're cute! We got to see the horse competition and we got to see the alpaca exhibit. Alpacas are cool because they have cute little haridos! We walked around all the booths, but I didn't buy anything except cotton candy. My mom won a CD at the PRAISE 106.5 booth. She threw a little bean bag in a little hole in the board...impeccable aim. :-) Around 7:00pm we went to the horse show opening for Rascal Flatts!!! There was a horse drill team, horse races, chariot races (drawn by little ponies), and a wagaon show. Each wagon was drawn by six Clydesdale horses. One team of horses wasn't harnessed correctly and they started running wild all over the arena. People were running away and jumping fences...it was kinda scary. No one got hurt, but the potential was there! It took 6 guys to finally get them under control. After the horse show came Rascal Flatts!!! WE had really good seats, but I missed my opportunity to get an upclose picture. They were letting people (OK just girls) go right up to the stage and take pictures...but I took one look at all the girls down there and decided that pictures from row S would be just fine. The only bad thing was that the speakers were up so loud you couldn't understand the words to the songs. This wasn't a problem for me (I knew all the words anyway) but my parents coudn't understand anything. They did really love the long fiddle solo they had near the end though. The fiddle player is really awesome...I don't know how his fingers can move that fast and be so accurate! We spent the night in a hotel in Bellingham (Lynden was too small and too crowded) and the next day we drove up to see Mt. Baker...it was really beautiful. Now we are at home and my dad is back ot working in the yard and I am starting a new project...making myself a skirt. My mom is helping me out and now all that's left to do is put in the zipper, waist, and hemline. Zipper work isn't fun...I'll let you know how it turns out!

August 12, 2003
Bowling was lots of fun. I haven't bowled in a while, but I managed to keep my average score above 160!! It was really smokey in there though...yucky :-P Our team didn't bowl that great so they won't win any money, but it was fun times. On the way home we stopped at McDonald's (at 11:30pm) for cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, milkshakes, and dip 'n' dots. It was almost like a midnight food run at college! The welcome home party for Josh and Amber didn't exactly work out as planned. I went to Lois' on Friday night, and I saw Josh out in the garden working and no one else was there. So I knocked on the door and Lois said "Oh no...you're the one we didn't call." As it turns out she had a wedding to do flowers for and the farmer's market the next day so they had moved the party to Saturday. But Josh showed me his pictures while I was there and I helped them harvest strawberries (millions of them). Plus I got fed so it all turned out just fine! Kacie's party was fun of course. She's just as full of energy as she always is. :-) She loves to do this little trick on you...she'll tell you to close your eyes and then she'll position her fingers right in front of your eyeballs so when you open your eyes you have fingers coming right at you...then she'll ask you to do the same to her...an odd one my cousin is, but I love her! Now I have to pack for th
e fair and Rascal Flatts!! Be back around Friday or so!

August 5, 2003
Well the tennis match today was so-so. We didn't play like poo, but we didn't play our best either...plus we lost badly. Oh well. As I said it's just friendsly competition...except I'm really competitive. Anyway. I finally sa
w Finding Nemo!! It was so cute, I love it! My two favorite parts are sea turtles and the "speaking whale". Funny funny :-)
Friday is a welcome home party for Josh and Amber. They've been in the Ukraine for the summer teaching Bible classes. It will be exciting to hear all their stories and see the pictures!
Saturday is my cousin's birthday (Kacie). She'll be 7 I think. I haven't seen my family in while, so it will be a fun time!
Well that's about it! I'd better get back to my pot roast now. :-)

August 3, 2003
Ahhhh Sunday. It started with church, or course. Mom and I went to the "church on the hill" this week. It was fun to see everyone from Creation again. After camping 4 1/2 days with people you get kind of attached! (By the wa
y cohort, Lois said that you were very sweet and she's looking forward to seeing you again next year...or sooner when you come and visit me!!) On Friday (the 1st) I went and helped out on Lois' farm. It was fun for me. I cut flowers (Queen Anne's Lace, Gladiolus, Flox, and mini-Carnations) and I folder her laudnry again (mountains of socks, cohort...) Oh, and the absolute best part...I got to rock her baby grand-daughter and give her a bottle. She was soooo cute and little!!! I loved it :-) Anyway, I'll be going back to Lois' to help periodically since there's so much to do!
On Tuesday I have a tennis match with Whidbey Island Breanne. We're playing in a league this summer. So far we've won one and lost one. We're behind one week so we need to reschedule a match too. Not a big deal though...I don't think you even win anything. Just a fun time, and good exercise!
So far we haven't done much for our vacation. Mom and I took a day trip to Seattle on Tuesday so I could be there for m
y Social Work meeting. Found out that I'm taking 20 credits and 6 classes next quarter...yeah fun. I've started reading for my English class already in preparation. Other than this, we haven't gone anywhere. Dad's been working outside a lot doing landscaping and building a shed for tools. I hammered nails today...it was much fun although I noticed his go in with a smaller number of hits than mine do. Something to work on...
On the 13th my family and I are going to the
Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden, WA where we will see Rascal Flatts, live in concert! I'm very excited.

Now I am going to update my picture page since my free internet is over ont the 6th. This could be my last chance to do that!

JULY 2003
July 28,2003

Creation was sooo much fun! It all started early on Wednesday...early early. Breanne and I left the house at 0530. We picked up Jenn first and then swung by and grabbed Joivanna. Then it was off to Freeland Lanes to pick up all the water we stashed in the freezer there. We loaded it all into the back of the truck (which I had learned to drive a week and a half before) and we were to Lois' farm by 0630. We unloaded water into various coolers (more practical than buying ice) and loaded the coolers into various vehicles (like mine) and then we went into the house to see if Lois needed any help. She was still packing but said that htere was nothing that we needed to do. So I started folding the laundry that was lying out on her couch. Pretty soon Jenn and Breanne were joining in on the fun of sorting and folding. The millions of socks were the best part! :-) Anyway we left her house at 0745-ish and made the 0830 ferry. On the other side we got food at McDonald's and topped off the gas tanks and then it was off. We didn't stop again until the Cle Elum rest stop. The whole way there we followed each other in a long line. Our 6-car caravan...it looked like a snake everytime we changed lanes. When we got there we waited in line for about 30 minutes (a lot better than last year's 3 hours) and we arrived at our camp site (only a couple minutes from the entrance to the ampitheater!) We set up camp and ate our dinner of taco salad and then it was off for the show! Tait was first, then Rebecca St. James, follwed by Audio Adrenaline, and Eastman Curtis was the speaker. All of them were awesome! We had a bit of an emergency when one of the women in our group, Mary, got heat stroke. Lois and Trish took her to the hospital and they were still gone when we went to bed around 0100.
Thursday morning I woke up at 0740. Many of you know my sleeping habits and may think I must be lying. No such thing...I woke up because it was about 100 degrees in our tent. It was either get up or die. Lois and Trish got back that morning. Turns out they slept in the truck at the hospital. Anyway, Mary came home from the hospital and since it was cooler that day she decided she was OK to drive herself home. We started the morning with worship and Lincoln Brewster. Around lunchtime we went to the Columbia for a cool down and a bath! That night we had chicken fajitas for dinner. Then we watche
d Sixpence None the Richer and the Newsboys. Newsboys were awesome, but I found that Sixpence was a little too laid back. Brad Stein also spoke...he is one of the funniest comedians I have ever heard.
Friday morning I was up with the heat again, so I was up for the first round of Jason's pancakes! It was great. Our morning started with worship and Joy Williams. I was really excited about Joshua Harris speaking, but it turned out not to be one of his better talks. He didn't seem to be that passionate about what he was speaking about. We went to the river again at lunchtime and had Hawaiian meatballs for dinner. David Nasser spoke that night and it was awesome. He talked about Mother Theresa's House of the Dying and all about Calcutta, India. It was so heardbreaking and I definitely shed some tears. Music was provided by Toby Mac and Michael W. Smith. Friday night was also the candlelighting ceremony. It's so cool to see a million camdles being lit all over the ampitheater...like a wave of light!
    Saturday mornign started with th
e Chris Tomlin Band and the David Crowder Band. Joshua Harris spoke again, but I was disappointed with this talk too. We decided not to go to the river because we didn't want to miss Skillet (awesome performance). Saturday during the day was nice and relaxing. I gave Trish a massage and it was just a good day to talk and get to know each other better. We ended the festival with an excellent talk by Ken Davis and music from Mercy Me and Third Day. It would have been better if Newsboys or Audio Adrenaline had ended becaus we were all soooo tired by the time Third Day came along and we didn't know the words to the songs, so we had trouble staying awake!
Sunday morning we had to be out of the campground by 0800 so we got up at 0600 and started packing up. We were out on time and we met up at Vantage to gas up (and get sugar and caffeine). Then we stopped at Ellensburg to pick up Trish's car (it had to have a belt or something replaced) and we didn't stop again until North Bend for lunch. Then I broke off for Seattle to drop my cohort off at the train station :-( and then it was off to the Mukilteo Ferry. On the way to the freeway from the train station I got caught on one of those hideous hills...I gunned the engine a bit, but I made it up! I went to Lois' house to drop off coolers and I ended up staying to watch the video of Brad Stein and then I drove Jessica, Josh, Joivanna, Christian (who turns out to be my neighbor), and Jenn home.
So as you can see from the longest narrative in the world, I had great fun on my trip to Creation! And I cannot wait until next summer!
