"Put it down! Now!"

"You’re being silly about this, its just a little snip off the top."

"No it’s not! You’re going to damage me!"

"How can I damage you with these!"

"Ah! Stay back!"

"Honestly! You’re overreacting! It won’t hurt, you’ll barely feel it."

"I don’t care! You’re going to cut me up into little pieces and laugh while you do it!"

"I am not! But it has to come out, otherwise… well you won’t look pretty."

"So now you’re saying I look ugly with it near me!"

"Oh for the love of… Look! It will only get worse if you leave it in, and what if you get a cut? You might infect it then we’ll have to remove to whole thing."

"No! I won’t give in! I won’t let you remove my baby!"

"I thought I was you’re baby?"

"You are… but you’re not attached to me."

"That’s it! It’s coming out!"

"No! Stay back! Don’t come any closer! I swear I’ll-"

"For God’s sake Hex! I never thought I’d say this, but would you shut up!"

The taller man sniffed indigently and promptly moved his back around, moving the item in question away from Duo’s reaching hand. The blonde sighed and resorted to desperate measures, conjuring up a wind spirit he instructed it to hold the brunette still while he did what had to be done.

The brunette looked at him suspiciously and opened his mouth to say something when his body suddenly froze up as the wind spirit wrapped around him invisibly and completely held him still.

Duo snagged around and grabbed Hex’s tail gently getting the tweezers and removing the offending pins.

Hex whimpered and glared at Duo. The bard rolled his eyes knowing exactly what was about to come out of the fighter’s mouth…

"Hn." Hex sniffed as the wind spirit released him. The moment his arms were free, he gathered his "Poor tortured baby," into his arms and gently nursed the limb. If tails could snicker at people, then Duo would have decided to hurt Hex’s tail immensely.

Duo sighed and put the tweezers down. "There now, didn’t hurt much did that?"

"Hn!"

Oh gods, he was doing the silent act again. It was hard enough to get him to say more then one syllable, let alone words, but endanger his "precious sweetheart," AKA his tail and he became worse then an eight-year-old child. Was there no hope for Duo? The bard sighed, watching as Hex petted his tail gingerly and whispered soothingly to it. Finally the fighter finished fawning over his limb and the furry limb settled around his waist. He glared at Duo with an odd fire in his eyes. Duo’s golden rod bangs danced across his vision as he smiled warmly at his lover.

Hex took a step forward. "You…"

Surely he wasn’t still pining about his tail? It wasn’t the bard’s fault the fighter got in the way of the other magician.

"Are…"

Duo swallowed and took a small step back; there was nothing quite as frightening as Hex in a ‘dangerous’ mood… well that would be Duo in a similar mood, but…

"So…"

Er, at least he was speaking to him again? That counted for something right?… Right?

"Going…"

Well, he wasn’t expecting that, he’d thought the words ‘you are so dead Duo’ to be about the gist of it… maybe he was safe? This thought went slightly out the window as the bard found himself with no more space to back up in, the soft bark of the huge oak trees brushing against his tunic.

"To…"

"Eep!"

Hex paused, putting two hands on the bark next to Duo’s head and leaning in closely.

"Pay for that, bard."

Duo shivered in excitement, he couldn’t help it, being backed up against a tree with someone who had an almost feral look on his face, lips barely an inch away from your own, body language dissipating promises of sex and a bit of violence, was just slightly exciting.

Hex opened his mouth, sucking in air, lips hovering preciously over Duo’s own. "I’m going to pass out…" The fighter said, then literally fell to the ground, unconscious.

Duo blinked… shit!

The bard knelt next to the brunette and slapped his cheek. Hex groaned and scrunched up his face, his tail brushing against Duo to send him away, and then Hex let out a hiss and sat bolt upright, nurturing his poor tail.

Hex glared and pulled Duo down roughly into his lap, moulding his lips with the bard’s in a smouldering kiss. The bard was all to happy to submit to the kiss and leaned forward eagerly, his arms wrapping around the fighter’s neck in a tight embrace. His lips parting to allow full exploration.

After a while of tongues duelling they broke apart. The fighter twitching.

"Sometimes I wonder if I should balance out the future happiness of my tail against your company."

"And? Who’s winning?"

"You’re barely hanging in by your teeth."

"Naturally."

"Hn."
