Collector's DVD Rumor |
Recent rumors for a "Lilo and Stitch" Collector's Edition to be issued sometime in January are confirmed to be false. Although Disney was considering it, for all those fanatics who collect the Disney Collector's DVDs, they had to shut down the operation to save money. Most of the special extras that were going to be included in the Collector's DVD are now on the cutting room floor. A shame, too. The DVD, Collector's Edition, would have included:
* A 20-Minutes tour of the Florida Animation Studio * 7 long deleted scenes: Including the scene with the 747 Plane Rescue that was chopped off due to the 9-11 attacks * The 45-Minute long "On Location, With the Directors" Featurette * Galleries with layouts, storyboards, and character designs * Much, much more Yep, it has been confirmed that the Collector's Edition will NOT be airing in January. This is due to the fact that Disney had come to the conclusion that most of the fans of "Lilo and Stitch" simply wanted the movie; not extra features because kids, the majority of "Lilo and Stitch" fans, have no need for special bonuses. Hopefully, however, Disney will find a way to please those who were anxious and waiting for the special release. It has been rumored that they are in the midst of considering issuing the Collector's DVD after the "Lilo and Stitch" Sequel- "Stitch! The Movie" - hits next summer, or after the TV Series comes out. Update: Great news, folks. The Spceial Edition DVD is due out in 2004! |
